In a cluttered beauty space – Uma oils are one of my new beauty finds

I have read in the press that Dermatologists recommend Uma oils for rapid healing after chemical procedures, I can testify to that too.  This collection of luxurious oils came into my awareness, just at the right time; over the last few weeks I have been rigorously testing some new skin care products for my 2017 Attracta Beauty Awards.  With all the multi-testing and layering, my skin reacted slightly leaving it looking very dry; the glow that I was expecting as promised on some skincare product packaging did not appear for me!.  I had to take a few days off from testing new products, I went into my Slow-Beauty mode, and went totally bare allowing my skin to do what it does best – heal naturally by itself!

On Sunday evening I decided to start re-introducing some skincare into my routine again, my skin was better but still feeling dry and taut; it felt as if it was calling out for some intense nutrition; fortunately it was at hand in these 2 little bottles, pictured.  I was recommended to try the UMA oils as part of a sample collection, and even though I have only used these 2 oils for 48 hours my skin feels rejuvenated today – quenched to the point where it looks as though I’ve had a salon treatment – I am super happy to see my skin is looking healthy again! Not only has these oils been incredibly effective in bringing back my skin-glow, it has made my skin feel soft and hydrated again, the ritual of applying it is an absolute joy as the scent is so beautiful – it transports you into a very Zen mood!  I have fallen in love with these oils and Valentine’s day is the perfect day to declare it!!  I am thrilled to have found this product and look forward to seeing how my skin continues to improve, I shall definitely be trying out more of their range!

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE UMA SKINCARE BRAND:

Uma is rooted in the philosophy that beauty, wellness and a fulfilled life go hand-in-hand.  All of their potent oils are blended by Ayurvedic experts to reverse visible signs of ageing and to transform damaged or dry skin.  The powerful organic ingredients are grown and hand harvested back in India.  Each oil blend, in its own unique way, helps to neutralise inflammation and enhance softer, brighter, more youthful skin.

There are five face oils in total in the range – I have been using the Absolute Anti-Ageing and Total Rejuvenating Night oils.  I like that they work synergistically to bring balance and vitality to skin and wellbeing. I am very impressed by the quality of these oils.  The Founder Shrankhla Holecek’s family have been growing, extracting and blending essential oils for many generations to sell to international beauty brands such as Estee Lauder and Tom Ford.  I am delighted to have been introduced to this range and the timing was perfect for me to see proven results!

Fuss free makeup & skincare by Pixi beauty

Last week I was invited along to the Pixi by Petra beauty store in London for their new spring beauty launches; a four-part limited edition line created by four leading beauty influencers.  This season, the British makeup and skin-care brand founded by professional makeup artist Petra Strand, decided to collaborate with bloggers, Caroline Hirons, Judy Travis, Maryam Maquillage, and Aspyn Ovard to co-design the limited edition makeup & skincare sets.  Each of the four women was given the task to sit down with Strand to co-design a few pieces based on their makeup or skin-care interests and real-life needs.

First up, Caroline Hirons, who is passionate about double-cleansing created a two-in-one, fragrance-free cleansing treatment with a solid balm on one side and a cream cleanser on the opposite side, aptly named Double Cleanse.
I enjoyed using the cleanser last night, it certainly left my skin feeling fresh and clean, would I recommend it, Yes!  The textures are light and you only need a small pea size of product to get great results!

Judy Travis, opted to create two custom 12-shade palettes—one for eyes, ItsEyeTime, and one for lips, ItsLipTime.  The ItsEyeTime palette features 12 matte and shimmer neutral-hued shades that can easily be built up, while the ItsLipTime palette also comes with 12 everyday shades made to be mix-and-matched and worn on both lips and cheeks.

I tried the lip palette this morning on set, for a day look – I particularly liked the nude tones as they are fresh and very wearable!

Maryam Maquillage, tapped into her love of sculpting to arrive at her two contouring palettes—the Strobe & Bronze Glow & Bronze palette and the Strobe & Sculpt Highlight and Contour palette which comes with its own Strobe & Sculpt Brush.  Each palette comes with six shades—in both matte and shimmer textures.

I’m not a great fan of powder bronzers, sometimes they can look too fake on the skin if you are too heavy handed and apply too much product.  However, I was impressed by the lightness of the pigment in this palette, after a light dusting over my cheeks, I was happy with the natural healthy glow it gave me.

Finally, Aspyn Ovard decided to design a trio of face products that add a subtle flush to any look without appearing overdone.  The Glow-y Powder Highlighter & Cheek Powders come in three shades, all named after her favorite travel destinations: the soft golden London Lustre, the warm bronzer Santorini Sunrise, and the shimmery rose-hued Rome Rose blush. Her collection also features the Eye Accents, a two-piece addition including the clear gel Brow Tamer and the Precision Mascara Lower Lash Mascara.

I have just tried out the mascara in this set, and it’s great! The tiny wand caught all my eyelashes to evenly coat with a dark coating of black. Impressed ✔︎✔︎
