Every day at sometime we will touch, sometimes admire, criticise or on the very bad days even ignore our skin depending on how we feel it is looking. Thankfully, there are some great brands that go the extra-extra mile in endeavouring to treat all that our skin requires to look fresh and healthy.
I discovered IDC and their Regen-16 Technology back in October 2016. Today I tell their story, only because I can see noticeable positive effects on my own skin. I never write about a product or treatment that does not work for me, skincare like makeup is very personal. I am not interested in sharing the details of a range that is not good for me because it maybe the holy grail for another make-up artist or person.
After years of personal experience, I am a firm believer that the best and only way to see if any product has worked is listening to the visible voice of your own skin which translates very decisively and correctly on how well a product or treatment reacts or doesn’t. Each day with my work I am constantly discovering new treatments and been recommended new skincare ranges, and that is how I discovered IDC.
Dr Éric Dupont, PH.D is the founder of this Canadian skincare brand and their Regen – 16 Technology. I loved when I originally read that he believes that sometimes “marketing often comes before science, not all claims are substantiated and ingredients are not always used at their optimal levels.” I have interviewed and discussed this topic with numerous Doctors, I always take away the same message from all the experienced experts; skincare ingredient lists may look very impressive on the packaging however when you look at the actual % of the vital ingredients that determine significant skincare changes they can be very low on some brands, in comparison to the levels that are required for noticeable effective long lasting results. Dr Dupont noticed that there were numerous gaps in the cosmetic industry. IDC (aka) Integral Dermo Correction aims to target simultaneously all known mechanisms responsible for skin ageing. I was particularly hooked when I discovered that they target the 16 scientifically recognised mechanisms involved in skin ageing, detailed below. Most brands focus only on the current mainstream buzz words of Inflammation, Oxidation, Hydration, Collagen synthesis to name a few. IDC identified and endeavour to treat all the 16 causes of skin ageing, they are known for going that extra skin science mile and taking into consideration all the skincare puzzle, which I am very impressed by. The creams that I have been using, pictured above, are light in texture, fragrance free and they all absorb very quickly into my skin, leaving a moist surface that is optimal to apply my makeup over. I use the Regen Express in my makeup kit also as it multi-tasks, working its magic benefits to hydrate the delicate eye area; active peptides promote lymphatic drainage, strengthen capillaries and increases firmness and elasticity around the eye contours – the perfect antidote for jet-lag/tired skin when models arrive on set. The presence of Hyaluronic acid is a big bonus, as we all know now it is the good acid that ensures our skincell’s moisture levels are optimally supported by locking in cellular fluid leaving the skin deeply hydrated.
This range has been a great discovery and one that will be on my bathroom shelf for a long time!. My 16 reasons to be happy today are perfectly described by IDC on their own webpage:
